Making accessible proposals
Simple steps so every client can read, hear and accept your proposals, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or larger text.
Images
Give every image an Alt text: a short description of what it shows, such as "Line array flown above the main stage". You will find the field under each image in the Gallery, Text and Technical Specification sections. Leave it empty only for purely decorative images.
Colours
Brand settings warns you when a brand colour will be hard to read. Text needs a contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background. If you see the warning, pick a darker (or for backgrounds, lighter) shade.
Videos
For a video you upload in the Video section, add a captions file (.vtt). Most editing tools and free online services can make one from your video. Clients who cannot hear the sound can then follow it.
Writing
- Use the Heading and Subheading buttons for headings, rather than bold text, so the structure is clear.
- Write links that make sense on their own, such as "Download the stage plan" rather than "click here".
- Keep sentences short and avoid writing whole paragraphs in capitals.
Accepting
Clients can accept by keyboard alone: they type their name and can use it as their signature. You do not need to do anything for this to work.
