Editor Overview
Everything you need to know about the proposal editor.
Three-panel layout
The editor is split into three panels that work together to give you full control over your proposal.
Sidebar (left)
Lists all sections in your proposal. Drag to reorder, click to select, and use the eye icon to hide or show sections.
Preview (centre)
A live, WYSIWYG preview of your proposal. What you see here is exactly what your client will see.
Edit panel (right)
Section-specific controls and fields. Content, layout options, images, and text alignment all live here.
Adding sections
Click Add section at the bottom of the sidebar to open the section picker. Choose from 18 section types, or insert a saved snippet.
Reordering sections
Drag sections up and down in the sidebar to change their order. The preview updates instantly as you reorder. The Cover, Accept Proposal, and Small Printsections are fixed in place (cover first, accept and small print last) and can't be dragged.
Section visibility
Click the eye icon next to a section in the sidebar to hide or show it. Hidden sections are not visible to clients but remain in your proposal for future use. The Cover, Accept Proposal, and Small Print sections are always shown and have no eye icon.
Autosave
Changes save automatically as you work. There is no save button; every edit is persisted in real time. You can close the browser and come back later without losing anything.
Section title and subtitle
Most sections have a title and subtitle that you can edit in the header area of the edit panel. These appear as headings in the proposal.
Text alignment
Most sections offer left or centre alignment options, accessible from the edit panel. Choose whichever suits the section content and your brand style.
Top bar actions
The buttons in the editor top bar (right side) control everything you do with a finished proposal:
- Preview: opens the live client view in a new tab.
- PDF (beta): downloads the proposal as an A4 PDF. Available on every status, including drafts. The PDF renders directly from the database with your brand colours, fonts, cover page, and a Technical Appendix at the end if a Technical Specification section has attachments.
- Certificate: appears once a proposal is accepted. Downloads a single-page acceptance certificate documenting who signed, when, and which mandatory documents they acknowledged. See Accept Proposal.
- Conversations: toggles the conversation panel for messages, view events, and acceptance history.
- Edit details (pencil icon next to the proposal name): rename or change the client name without going back to the library.
- Send: opens the send modal. Three options: email directly, copy a link, or download a PDF and mark as sent.
Keyboard shortcut
Press Cmd+Shift+P (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows) to open Power Mode, a pop-out editor window for distraction-free editing.
